Friends & Family - A perfectly imperfect chicken
We are very proud of the products we produce here at Wise Acre Farm and have worked hard to be a trusted source of high-quality food here in Sonoma County. Sometimes we produce things that are not as esthetically pleasing enough to hit that level of pride we stride for.
When we first started producing meat birds it was in small batches. We started calling the chickens we didn’t feel comfortable selling at our top dollar price Friends & Family chickens because that is exactly who we gave the chickens to, our family and friends!
As our meat bird program grew we knew we didn’t have enough family or friends for the high volume we would be producing. So that’s when we came up with the idea to offer this as a budget friendly option to our amazing customers.
Each chicken has a tag marked with the imperfection of abrasion, bruising or broken wing and is sold for a flat rate of $18.00 regardless of size. For more details on the imperfections check out our Roasting Chickens page here.
All our chickens are raised on pasture and moved daily which allows the birds to forage for grass, seeds, and insects. You can find more information about our roasting chickens under our Product page.
The weight of this product will range from 3.5 to 6 pounds. You get what you get with this product, if you have a preference on size or don’t want a certain imperfection, we can only accommodate these requests at our Meat Market on Thursdays and Sundays. This product is only available for locker pick up. To learn more about our locker pick up system visit our Farmstand page.
